The movie TURNT chronicles the seemingly Cinderella story of Mia, a talented, driven foster youth who is determined to grant her mother's dying wish of becoming a singer.  She falls for Jamal, a charming rapper, who agrees to help her.  When he turns to exploiting girls to build his career, Mia must confront the harsh realities of love, ambition, and betrayal, and will stop at nothing to regain her freedom.
